Who we are

Live-fire cooking gear, chosen by people who cook over fire

GetBackyarding is a small, service-disabled veteran-owned shop for people who cook over real fire. We carry Argentine and Santa Maria grills, kamados, fire pit cookers, wood-fired pizza ovens, charcoal and hardwood, cast iron, tools, rubs and sauces — a short list on purpose, chosen because we cook on this gear ourselves. We're an authorized dealer for every maker we carry, so your warranty is the maker's full warranty and parts stay available for years. Wherever we can, we favor steel and iron built in the United States by shops that still answer the phone. Small items ship from our partners in a few days. Big cookers ship by freight straight from the maker: the carrier calls you to schedule a delivery window, the pallet comes to your curb, and you inspect it before you sign. If you're not sure what fits your patio, your crowd or your budget, take the grill advisor or email a real person who cooks over fire every week.

How big items ship

No surprises on the freight truck

  1. 1

    Ships from the maker

Most cookers leave the shop in 2–10 business days; the lead time on the product page is the maker's own.

  2. 2

    The carrier calls you

Freight delivery is scheduled with you by phone, so someone is home when the truck arrives.

  3. 3

    Inspect before you sign

Look the crate over at the curb. Note anything damaged on the delivery receipt and we'll make it right.

Backyarding is a verb.

It's the hour before dinner when the coals come up and people drift toward the heat. We started GetBackyarding because that hour deserves gear that works — steel that lasts decades, fuel that burns clean, and honest answers from people who cook over fire every week.

We're a service-disabled veteran-owned shop. We carry a short list on purpose: only makers we'd put in our own backyard.

Talk to a real person: Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm ET service@getbackyarding.com

Common questions

Before you order

How do big grills and fire pits ship?
Large cookers ship by freight from the maker. The carrier calls you to schedule a delivery window and brings the pallet to your curb. Inspect the crate before you sign — note any damage on the delivery receipt and we'll sort out a replacement with the maker. Read the full answer
What's your return policy?
Thirty days. If it isn't right for your yard, email us within 30 days of delivery and we'll walk you through the return. Items come back by mail or freight in original packaging; return shipping is the customer's cost unless the item arrived damaged or defective, and some freight items carry a maker restocking fee we quote before you commit. Do you offer free shipping?
Yes — orders over $89 ship free within the lower 48. Smaller orders ship at a flat rate, shown at checkout. Read the full answer
